Motion by Councillor Palacio on Holiday Shopping Item

Councillor Cesar Palacio has made the following motions on item ED29.4 headed "Holiday Shopping".
 
Motion to Refer Item moved by Councillor Cesar Palacio 
That City Council refer this Item back to the General Manager, Economic Development and Culture with a request to conduct further public consultation with all stakeholders, including BIAs, existing community groups and Members of Council, on the issue of holiday shopping for report to the Economic Development Committee in the next term of Council.

That the item be received for information.

Because Councillor Palacio has moved referral, Council will set aside the main debate to debate the referral first.

Toronto City Council has approved the following amendments to the Order Paper:
  • The Mayor has designated two key matters that will be debated as the first two items:
    • CD32.1 - 2009 Street Needs Assessment: Results and Observations
    • PW32.8 - Proposed Public bicycle Program
  • MM49.11 - Bill 158 - The Accounting Professions Act - by Councillor Vaughan, seconded by Mayor Miller - will be considered immediately following the completion of the Mayor's Key items
  • ED29.4 - Holiday Shopping will be considered at 11AM on Wednesday, May 12.
  • SC34.25 - Protection of the Scarborough Waterfront  - has been ruled out of order by the Speaker and withdrawn from the agenda.
