Councillor Ana Bailão has moved the following motions on the 2012 Capital and Operating Budgets:

Fire Services – Operating Budget


That:

1. The Toronto Fire Services operating budget be amended by removing the proposed increased gapping of an additional 68 firefighters and that the necessary funding of $2.3M be provided from the Extreme Weather Reserve.

2. City Council direct the Chief, Toronto Fire Services to initiate three recruitment classes within 2012 to ensure that the 2011 Toronto Fire Service staffing levels be maintained.
