Capital and Corporate Financing/Non-Program Budget (Recommendations 104-105)
That:
1. The Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial Officer be directed to develop an exemption from the Personal Vehicle Tax for residents who are over the age of 65 and who have a gross income of less than $50,000 and report on an implementation for the 2011 budget process.
2. The Province of Ontario be advised of Council's decison.
Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti has moved the following motion on the 2010 Operating Budget.
Capital and Corporate Financing/Non-Program Budget (Recommendations 104-105)
That:
1. The 2010 Operating Budget be amended by reducing the $75.982 million transfer to the Property Tax Stabilization Reserve by an amount which would fund an exemption from the Personal Vehicle Tax starting in 2011, for residents who are over the age of 65 and who have an income of less than $50,000.
2. The Province of Ontario be advised of Council's decison.
